How to Receive Eternal Life (Salvation)

Video - MEET EVANGELISM LINEBACKER                          Why You Need Salvation and How to Get Save

 · God's Grace - Heaven is a free gift

· Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life is through Jesus Christ our Lord"

· It is not earned or deserved

Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

No amount of personal effort, good works, or religious deeds can earn a place in heaven for you. Why we cannot get into heaven on our own "good" works.

Man is a sinner- Sin separates us from God

Did you know that the main reason we suffer is because of our sin? The bible says everyone has sinned (1 John 1:8). In fact, sin separates us from God and condemns us to death. (Romans 3:32; Romans 6:23; Exodus 34:7b; Ezekiel 18:20). Everyone has sinned! There are three types of sin. Sins of Commission (Exo.20; 1 Cor. 6:9) things that we do, sins of Omission (Mat.25:31-45; Jas. 4:14) things that we fail or neglect to do, and Sins of Thought (Mat. 9:4; Mat. 15:19-20) thinking wrong things. (C.O.T.) Sin is the reason we lost our relationship with God, it is the reason we suffer and because of our sin, we must be punished.

Romans 3 23 For all have sinned and come short of the glory of the Lord.

Isaiah 59:2 But your iniquities (sins) have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

· Man Cannot Save himself

Matthew 5:48 Therefore, be ye perfect even as your Father in Heaven is perfect.

John 6:44 No one can come to me unless they are drawn to me by the Father who sent me, and I will raise them up at the last day. (CEB)

· God is merciful- therefore He does not want to punish us.

· 1John 4:8 "..For God is Love.."

Jeremiah 31:3 "...Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love:.."

· God is just- therefore He must punish sin.

· Exodus 34:7-b He..will by no means clear the guilty... Ezekiel 18:20 "The soul that sinneth, it shall die.."

JESUS CHRIST - A Perfect Sacrifice who paid for our debts (sins) that we couldn't pay. He took the punishment for our sins.

Who He is- the infinite God-Man (totally God and totally man)

John 1, 1-14 In the beginning was the Word, (Jesus) and the Word (Jesus) was with God, and the Word (Jesus) was God. (14)And the Word (Jesus) was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

What He did- He died on the cross and was buried for three days, rose from the dead to pay the penalty for our sins and to purchase a place in heaven for us.

All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. Isaiah 53:6

He (Jesus) offers this to us as a gift, and this gift is received by Faith

· What Faith is not

· Faith is NOT Mere Head (Intellectually) knowledge

Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. James 2:19

· Faith is NOT Mere Temporal Faith (Temporary faith during times of crisis)

· What it is- Trusting in Jesus Christ alone for eternal life

..."Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved..." Acts 16:31

Jesus died on the cross and was buried for three days, and arose from the dead, to pay the penalty for our sins and He purchased a place in heaven for us.

Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also...."6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." John 14:1- 4,6.

A-Accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. (Acts 16:31) This means to

remove yourself from the throne of your heart, and allowing Jesus to take his rightful seat on the throne of your heart. Are you willing to let Jesus take his rightful seat on the throne of your heart?

B-Believe that Jesus paid the penalty for our sins through his death, burial, and resurrection. (Romans 10:9) This means transferring your trust from yourself, to what Jesus Christ did on the Cross-for us. Are you willing to transfer your trust from yourself; to Jesus Christ and what he did on the on the cross for us?

C-Confess your sins! Tell Jesus you are sorry for your sins and ask Him for forgiveness. Repent, which means to change one's mind, heart or attitude; turning away from your sin. (1 John 1:9) Are you willing to tell Jesus that you are sorry for your sins and turn away from sin?

This is a Suggested Prayer:

Lord and Savior Jesus, thank you for your gift of eternal life. I know I'm a sinner and I do not deserve eternal life. But you loved me so much that you died and rose from the grave to purchase a place in Heaven for me. I now transfer my trust from myself, to you alone for eternal life. I ask for forgiveness for my sins. From this point forward, please take control of my life, and give me strength to do Your Will. Thank you Jesus.

This is what Jesus said about what you have just done.

Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life. John 6:47

There are "Five" means of growing after receiving Salvation over Sin. Your New B.I.R.T.H.

B * Bible: Read your bible daily. The Word of God is our Power of God. Learn the Word of God.

The message of the cross is foolishness to those who are being destroyed. But it is the power of God for those of us who are being saved. 1 Cor. 1:18 (CEB)

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Psalms 119:105

I * Introduction to the Power of Prayer:

The power of prayer should never be underestimated. James 5:16-18 (CEB) declares, ??The prayer of the righteous person is powerful in what it can achieve.? The power of prayer is not the results of the person that is praying, rather the power resides in God who is being prayed to. 1: John 5:14-15 (CEB) says, This is the confidence that we have in our relationship with God: If we ask for anything in agreement with his will, he listens to us. 15 If we know that he listens to whatever we ask, we know that we have received what we asked from him.

Talk to God through Prayer: Through prayer, we have direct communication with God. The bible tells to bring all your cares and concerns to God.

Don?t be anxious about anything; rather, bring up all of your requests to God in your prayers and petitions, along with giving thanks. 7 Then the peace of God that exceeds all understanding will keep your hearts and minds safe in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 (CEB)

R * Relationship: Build relationships with other Christians through ?fellowshipping.? Fellowship is the act of Christians gathering together to encourage and uplift each other for spiritual growth. ?Iron sharpens iron.?

As iron sharpens iron, so friends sharpen each others faces. Proverbs 27:17 (CEB)

Do not stop meeting together with other believers, which some people have gotten into the habit of doing. Instead, encourage each other, especially as you see the day drawing near. Hebrews 10:25 (CEB)

T *Tell people about Jesus. Share the joy of the gospel (Bible) with others.

"Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. But whoever denies me before men, him I will also deny before My Father Who is in heaven." Matthew 10:32, 33 (see Acts 1:8-9, Matthew 28:18-20).

One of the two disciples who heard what John said and followed Jesus was Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter. 41 He first found his own brother Simon and said to him, ?We have found the Messiah? (which is translated Christ). John 1:40-41 (CEB)

H * Honor God: Honor God through your worship. Attend a church that honors Jesus Christ as Lord and teaches the Bible.

But the time is coming; and is here! when true worshippers will worship in spirit and truth. The Father looks for those who worship him this way. John 4:23 (CEB)

I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. Psalms 34:1
